Remember the Forgotten
Blast from the past. I just was reminded of the YouTube channel [redacted] I used to watch years and years back. He made some good videos. I sympathized with him (and I suppose I still do) and it really kinda opened up my eyes about [redacted].
But this isn't really about the content. Mostly it's about the fact that he deleted his channel years ago. And there are hardly any copies of videos remaining anywhere to be found (so much for "the internet is forever"). But just at the mention of his name, I remembered what he looked like, sounded like, how the graphics he used to make looked. So I searched and eventually found someone had uploaded a copy of one of his videos and it was all just as I recalled.
I wonder how many other things (shows, movies, songs, YouTube channels, stories, restaurants, games, people) that I've forgotten but not totally erased. Things that were once important to me at the time. Things that are still locked away in my mind somewhere, awaiting the command to be recalled, but not readily independently accessible.
Yours Truly,
