Music Rec: Gwyllion
There was a video on YouTube I probably watched ~2013. Back in the days where people would just put music in the background and text on the screen. The song they picked was Rage⤻ by the band Gwyllion. Woah. I had never heard anything like this before and it sent me down a path into the world of Symphonic Metal. I wanted to find this original video again, but I couldn't track it down. I tried to get AI to help me, but my memory of the video was so sparse that it wasn't able to find it. That, and there's a pretty solid chance that the video has simply been lost to time, likely deleted by the creator or by auto-copyright claim. Either way, this tiny Belgian band stuck with me all these years. I'll suggest their song Roots of Reality⤻ as a showcase of their vocalist's operatic range. I lament that they dissolved months after their album released in 2009. But, despite their short run and relatively modest local success, I managed to get my hands on a CD of their album, which I cherish very much. I can't imagine there are very many of these things floating around out there.
