Brutally stabbed, calling out to police for help.

'I can't breathe. I've been stabbed.'

'Don't think you have, mate.'

Mate.

MATE.

Then they put him in handcuffs. And such was the end for this young man. Watch the footage. Hear his pleas. The callousness of those ostensibly sent to help him. The pallor of his skin as the blood drained from him while they restrain and cuff his limp arms. All at the behest of the man who stabbed him to begin with. A man who, unlike the victim, belongs to a community with an exception to British law which allows him to carry a knife because of his Indian religion.

The headlines smack
Of another attack
Not the last
And not the worst

And so life goes on. Except for those from whom it was brutally and tragically taken.
