Confidence of No Vote

Election coming up. I haven't really put much thought into it because I've kinda ceased to care. I've been thinking less about who I would vote for and more about if I should be voting at all. I think I might abstain.

Have I been psy-oped into my beliefs? Obviously yes. More important is "are they wrong?" I don't think voting matters. At least, not in the conventional sense. It definitely has an impact. Both on the system and on you as a voter.

  1. The system finds out what people think. They collect data on how the things they proposed are being received. Are people generally behind idea X or idea Y? Are we boiling the frog too quickly and people are starting to push back or are they still asleep, thinking it's going well?

  2. You get the feeling of investment. You are consenting to the system. The results are "your" doing. Even if your candidate loses, you're responsible. That keeps you loyal. It keeps you from thinking outside the system.

But I do not consent. I refuse to vote for the "lesser of two evils". Because that's still voting for evil. Am I "self disenfranchising"? Yes. Are my enemies happy that I'm not voting? Yes, in as far as they can push themselves up without my opposition. No, in as far as they do not get me to consent. They do not collect any data on me. Perhaps voting isn't something I want to have on my conscious any more. I do not want to be "responsible" for what the winning candidate does. I do not want to lend them any more legitimacy. They do not represent me. They do not have my interest in mind. Why should I vote for someone who seeks my destruction?

So I ask for a final time. Should I vote? And I'm feeling that the answer should remain No. I'll vote locally. They're not all bought and paid for by my enemies, foreign and domestic. So I'll consent to that. But at the federal level, no thank you. I see no benefit to either outcome. "The only winning move is not to play".

Yours Truly,
