Ancient Roman Facelifts?
Not 100% sure how I started this line of thought (typical) but here it is. I was thinking about Roman statues and wondering if men and women actually looked like that or if their beauty was enhanced by the sculptors. Then it occurred to me how difficult that part of the task would be.
Forget for a moment how arduous it is to create the sculpture to begin with... How do you make a woman more beautiful? You need to have the deepest understanding of what beauty is and how it's expressed and what makes a woman more or less beautiful in order to pick the aspects to increase beauty. I don't think I could do such a thing. I wouldn't be able to look at a person and say how to make them more beautiful. Add it to the pile of reasons why these sculptors were the most talented artists to ever live.
