A Premonition
Have you ever had a premonition of something about to happen? Just wanted to share one that I had the other day.
I was driving home late the other night. It was late enough that, while I'm sitting at a red light, there's no traffic going through the intersection. So I sit and wait. No cars pass. I see the other direction's light turn yellow. I look left and right, then see a car coming toward the light, but probably 10 seconds down the road. Their light turns red and there's a 2 second delay before mine turns green. That's when it happens.
What I can only describe as the Voice of God whispers in my ear "Don't go, that car will run the red light".
My light turns green, the other car is still 3-4 seconds down the road. I just sit there. No one behind me so I don't need to worry about someone hitting the horn. All I can think about it is "where did that thought come from?" But I sit and wait, and that car comes flying through the red light, full speed, didn't even try to slow down.
I just watch it drive off down the road in awe. I'm not sure if it would have been certain death, but it would have been catastrophic had I decided to go when my light turned green. I have no explanation beyond divine intervention. How could I have known the car would run the light? I sat at the light for another 10 seconds wondering what just happened before I continued my drive home.
